This recipe has been a lifesaver on so many occasions – providing breakfast, brunch, lunch, or dinner. It is perfect for a potluck or to whip up last minute.
My basic recipe is just that – the base. You can add most anything to it and make it uniquely yours.
Here’s the base:
- 10 eggs
- 2 cloves garlic, minced or grated
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
Then feel free to add any combination of the following:
- 8 slices of bacon, cooked and chopped
- 3/4 cup chopped ham
- 1/4 cup chopped basil
- 12 cherry tomatoes, halved
- 2 cups organic spinach or kale
- 3/4 cup grated cheese – cheddar or mozzarella
- 1/2 cup grated zucchini
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a large mixing bowl, whisk eggs, garlic, salt, and pepper. Stir in the other ingredients (spinach, bacon, etc). Pour into a greased 9 X 11 inch baking dish and top with tomato halves and any cheese.
Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the quiche is set.
I really love this recipe because I can be creative and use little bits of ingredients I can find in my fridge! If I am out of fresh basil, I will use a drop of Basil Vitality Essential Oil – which will really bring some fabulous flavor too. You can easily make it Paleo, 21 Day Sugar Detox compatible, and it is gluten-free too.
