God's Provision

It’s that time for me to share with you some updates from “our girls”!  For those who are new here, this blog – through your wonderful effort of using my amazon affiliate link sponsor FOUR girls in India through Compassion.  I have an easy amazon button on my home page that you can easily use to click through when making any purchase; it doesn’t cost you anymore but every little bit helps.

We started a year ago with sponsoring Shine, then after I shared with you how I would add to our sponsorship if amazon affiliate payments increased, we were able to add two more girls, Gold and Hannah in May.  Then you all continued to amaze me and we added another, Judith back in November and we are again ready to add TWO MORE to our sponsorship!!!  Isn’t that exciting!

We will have a total of SIX girls we are sponsoring together.

Changing the lives of girls on the other side of the world because of a very small effort – using an amazon affiliate link!!

Letters

Here are some updated letters from the girls – they shared about a recent trip they took, how well they are doing in school, asked for prayers for their family and also drew some fantastic pictures!!

Pictures

I will be writing back in the next week, one thing which I really love is the fact that I can write back using the forms on the Compassion website, so I can actually copy the letter to each girl and then change it up a bit to personalize it.  Obviously, by adding several new girls, this letter writing could get more time consuming, but I really appreciate that Compassion has made it a bit easier.

I can also attach photos easily to the letters I send – which I know is fun for them to see.

I will be getting a new graphic created with all the girls photos on it, we will be a total of SIX – so hopefully we can make it fit.  We are waiting to hear back to try to get girls from the same village as the four we already have, but we may have to pick another location near by.

Do you want to know my dream?  It is to plan a trip to India and then be able to meet these girls!  Yep, I know God has an amazing plan here with this entire journey and you just never know what He has planned in the future!

Watch for the updated graphic in the near future and I will share on the Facebook page when I get the names of the two new girls.  I know they would love you praying for them as well.

I was thrilled to open three letters this week – all from the compassion girls we sponsor here on The Confident Mom, with your support through making amazon affiliate purchases.  I can hardly believe that we are ready to take on another sponsor child!!  WOO HOO!

For those who are not familiar, a few months backs I felt the urge to allow this blog to make a difference in another way by providing support for a sponsorship of a Compassion child.  I attended the Hearts at Home Conference back in March and it all began there.  Our first girl from India, Shine.

As I shared that challenge to use the amazon affiliate link when shopping on amazon, our amount earned each month grew – in just a short time we were able to add two more girls to the sponsorship!

Well, I have exciting news again…… you all have AMAZED ME – and we are at the point where we can add another Compassion Sponsorship to The Confident Mom’s little “global family”.

Introducing:IN6201062-Fullshot-200w

Judith Sheeba

She is from the same area in India as the other girls, which is really a blessing.  She is sixteen and her birthday is in March.  As soon as I learn more about her I will be sure to pass it on.  So excited to be sharing more blessing with this village!

It is the season where people tend to do even more online shopping (or is that just me??  I hate going to the mall!!)  So in your regular purchasing or gift giving, when you are looking to shop on amazon if you would take a minute and click through this link or the graphic on my homepage, you will hep add to this amount and be helping sponsor these girls.  It is amazing how we can all help and make a difference with just a few addd seconds of our time.

Purchasing using this link does not cost you any more, it does not add anything to the price of the items you are already purchasing, but it does have the impact to make a much larger impact in the world.  I know these girls are thrilled to have you sponsoring them.

Here is the update on our girls:

Shine

Reading books, playing football and playing hide and seek are her favorite things to do.  She recently had a birthday and we were able to send a birthday gift amount and she purchased a “trolly-bag” and NIV Bible and some chocolates.  (That sounds like a perfect gift to me!!)

Gold

Her school recently had a sports day where they had many events to participate in and also danced.  She also had a birthday recently and was able to purchase 2 sets of slippers, a hand bag, a pouch and some chocolates.  (hmmm…. I see a trend!)  She also sent a beautiful picture on the back of her letter.

Hannah

She was sharing how her cousin recently had gotten married and had a baby, which she sounded excited about.  Her favorite Bible verse if Psalm 91 –  (love that!!)  She shared a bit about the sports day as well, which is fun….all three of the girls to know each other.  There was also a nice drawing on her letter too.

Thank you so much for taking the time to use the amazon affiliate link so we can bless these families on the other side of the world.  It is amazing how we can each do a little bit to make a bigger impact!

If your family is interested in sponsoring your own family, here is information to make it quick and easy.  I  know you will find it just as rewarding.

Making-a-Difference-Compassion

If you could make a difference in a child’s life you may not even ever meet, would you?

Would you sacrifice $1 a day and 30 minutes of your time a month?  What if it cost you $1.25 a day and an hour of your time a month?

A few months ago I was given a truly divine idea while sitting at the Hearts at Home Conference watching a video of Jill Savage visiting her Compassion sponsored child.  I felt led for my blog to sponsor a child – not just me, but all of us.  I wasn’t sure exactly what it would look like, but shortly after I picked an adorable 8 year old girl, aptly named Shine – it came to me.  I shared this idea a few months back and it has been great!

But for those who may not read my newsletter – I wanted to update you that we are now sponsoring three girls all from the same village!  Yep – my idea to have you all use my amazon link to make your purchases has exceeded my expectations.  I told you if we consistently were able to exceed to amount needed to sponsor one child, I would ask for more.  I called last month to ask for two more girls in the same village.

I nearly fell off my stool when the gentleman on the other end of the phone said he only had TWO girls left in that village to sponsor.  I said, “Well, we’ll take them!”

So, we have three beautiful girls all from the same village:

Hannah Esther Christy – 10  (left photo)

Gold Jayishiha –  9  (right photo)

I just recently received my first letter from Shine and am anxiously awaiting letters from the other two.  So fun!  One thing that has made corresponding so easy is that I can write my letters to the girls online!!  It is awesome and so easy.

Compassion-child-Shine

We are making a difference, in the lives of three girls half-way across the world!!  A few cents at a time add up!  If we continue to exceed the monthly amount of $38 per child, I will ask for more children to sponsor!

What can you do?

If you can please remember to take the extra step to my website, click through on the graphic of the girls (like the one pictured above) on the bottom right hand corner you will then be directed to amazon.

When you order, using my affiliate link, I get a small referral fee – which does not cost you anymore on your purchase,  amazon pays that to me, which is what I use to pay the sponsor fee each month.  It takes a few minutes of your time to click through, but makes a world of difference to three little girls!

Perhaps your family would like to sponsor a Compassion Child on your own?

It is very easy to get started and something you can do right online.  Hop over to the Compassion website and you can scroll through waiting children, pick one and get started.  Your tax-deductible contribution of just $38 a month connects your child with a loving, church-based Child Sponsorship Program.

I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for making this journey of sponsoring these girls an incredible success so far!  I will share with you when I receive letters so we can rejoice together on how God is using this space and all of us together to make a difference.

It’s a Wrap and a Surprise!!

Compassion-Child-Surprise

So, we’ve come to the end of the books study, No More Perfect Moms – I love happy endings, but they are also sad.  I know from conversations on the Facebook page that you’ve seen growth, identified areas that God wants to show you and realized that we do not need to be perfect in ANY area – God is not asking that of us.

I hope you will hold onto this book and read it each year, refreshing your mind with truth and what is important.  Keeping your mind aligned with what you know to be powerful and real.  I will be doing the same.  Even though this is the second time I’ve read through the book, I still gleaned a lot!

So I have a surprise for you too, some may have already seen it on the FB page, but most have not – that silly Facebook is not showing anyone any updates!!  But, before I share that with you, I thought it would be fun to watch the blooper video that was put together from all the takes done to create the wonderful videos for the study.

If you are reading this in your ‘in-box” you will need to click through to the blog to watch –

And now, for my other surprise…..

The Confident Mom is now sponsoring a child through Compassion!!!

Here is I was at the Hearts at Home Conference right after I signed up to be Shine’s sponsor – I was pretty darn excited about that!

I am pleased to introduce to you Shine Eirene Andrap, who is 8 years old and lives on the plains of the Dohnavur in India.  I am pretty darn excited and feel this is one way we can unite together to share God’s love.

Shine-1-Compassion

{Isn’t she gorgeous!!????}

I felt my heart tug when I sat watching Jill Savage share about actually meeting her Compassion child in a video segment at the Hearts at Home Conference.  It was very touching.  After the segment, they began passing brochures that had children available for sponsorship, you’ve probably been to a concert or event where they’ve done this, you know how it goes.  When the stack came to me, I was really pulled to look through the pile, and now I know why.

Our family personally sponsors children and have over the years, but it came to me that it would be a great community feeling to share in the sponsorship of a child through my blog.  It was like a light bulb went on for me.

I was almost taken back when I began looking through the stack given to our row to review….they were all children from India.  My heart skipped.  I have a huge heart for India which began back when I was in high school.  I was selected to go on an international adventure to a Girl Guide House in Pune, India when I was a Senior in High School.  I was in India when Indira Ghandi was assassinated, back in October of 1984.  It was pretty incredible to be there while such an emotional event impacted the country.

Several years later I went back to India through an opportunity with the YMCA to attend a Leadership event in Hyderbad, India.  I experienced even more of the country and loved every minute.  There started my love of a country that was very different and very far from my home.

A few months back I was offered the chance to review a movie, Mother India about the overwhelming orphan population in India and I shared about it here on the blog.  It touched my heart deeply.  There is something magical about this country, so very far away that ignites something inside me.

So, when the packets being distributed in our row where of children living in India, I knew…… this was a calling.  An opportunity.  I looked through and picked a little girl who I thought was just adorable…..Shine.  How perfect!

I have yet to write her my introductory letter, but will be soon.  I am excited to share with her that it is not only me sponsoring her, but thousands of other ‘mamas’ from all over the world.  I am thrilled to use this blog as an avenue to make a difference to you, but also to a little girl half-way across the world.

You have often seen me post links to amazon products or books – well, you also likely know when I do I make a small commission on those purchases.  Every time you click and make a purchase, even if it is not the product you clicked through on, this blog gets a bit of changeto make a change.

Here is my heart and my goal – this may be just the start, but I hope to grow sponsorship to more than one little girl.  If the amazon commissions generate enough money to sponsor more than one child on a consistent basis, then guess what?  We will do another!  If it goes beyond that….then we will do another!

I will be creating a graphic button that will appear on my home page on the right side bar with Shine’s picture that will link right to amazon.  If you are shopping online and can remember to click over to The Confident Mom first before placing your amazon order, then you will be adding to that fund!  It will cost you nothing more than a few seconds to do a few extra clicks.

I am excited to share and see where this challenge takes us!!  Know you can make a difference in the life of a little girl and perhaps another as we move ahead with this journey – pray for Shine when you remember, ask God to bless her and her family, to shower her with His love.

We can do this – YES we can!
