Ways to Use Lavender Oil in Your Home
If you are thinking of venturing into the world of essential oils, Lavender is by far the first oil you should get and begin using. It is nicknamed the “Swiss Army Knife” of essential oils for good reason.

Here are just a few ways we use Lavender oil in our home. Maybe some of these will spark your interest too!

#1: Laundry Rinse: Combine vinegar and Lavender oil to make a natural laundry rinse. Find my recipe here!

#2: Calming: Diffuse Lavender oil in a room to calm your mind, body, and spirit. This works for everyone who is in the room. My favorite way to incorporate oils in our home with unknowing victims! When things get hairy, mama diffuses oils and it calms everyone down!

#3: Sleep Well: If you love getting a good night’s sleep, dab a few drops of Lavender behind your ears or on the bottoms of your feet. Or better yet, diffuse in your bedroom before bed.

#4: Linen Spray: Create your own natural linen spray. Add some drops of Lavender oil to a spray bottle with water, a touch of sea salt, and spray on your sheets, pillows, and towels. This has been a “tradition” for my kids for years. Now I can be safe in knowing exactly what is in my spray since I am making it myself.

#5: Room Spray: Create the same mixture as above and spray in your room as a freshener and disinfectant. Especially great to counter those pesky cooking odors!

#6: Foot Bath: Add a few drops of Lavender oil to a warm foot bath and soak your feet to relieve occasional stress. If you don’t have time to take a full bath, this is a quick treat that really helps.

#7: Bath Salts: Making your own bath salts is such fun. You can incorporate all types of salts and oils. I’ve been taking better care of my body by making time to have a nice soak at least twice a week. It is really a great after exercise! Try this easy recipe using Lavender oil.

#8: Bathroom Freshness: I place 2-3 drops of Lavender oil in new rolls of toilet paper when re-stocking the bathroom. Each time someone takes from the roll it releases the calming and fresh scent of Lavender.

#9: Floor Cleaner: I’ve been using a simple floor cleaner which combines water, vinegar, and a few drops of Lavender – so easy, good for the environment, and my budget!

#10: Calm Nerves: By using Lavender in my home on a regular basis I’ve have been able to relax a bit more and it is contagious! I struggle with escalated nerves on occasion and when I feel any of those familiar feelings rearing their ugly head, I will dab a few drops behind my ears and it eases my occasional tension and calms me down.

#11: Body Wash: I am loving my homemade body wash with Lavender oil! You really should try it.
