I recently had the wonderful privilege of being sent a complimentary Kiwi Crate box – which was thoroughly enjoyed by my 4 year old and I one Saturday afternoon.  It was perfect!  As I have shared before, I am not very talented in the ‘crafty mom’ area!

I love the idea behind Kiwi Crate and how it can help moms like me who just don’t have that creative gene in them!   Each month Kiwi Crate designs a hands-on project for kids ages 3-8 around a fun theme – the box we received was on The Rainforest.

For less than $20 per month, you will receive multiple arts, crafts, and science activities – delivered right to your door – can you say – YES!!!!  Saved by the postman!

In this box for May, we received items to make Jumping Frogs and a Rainstick.  I absolutely love that everything is included – I mean everything – rubber bands, colors and even a pair of scissors – you could easily order one and take it on a vacation with you and not worry about not having supplies you might need – love that!

I have a 4 year old little boy, so both projects were right up his alley.  I colored a few frogs and even his 17 year old big brother did too – it was fun to do together.  I really like that the instructions are clear, easy to read and follow – and there are pictures to go along with the wording, so even though he couldn’t read, he could see what step was next in the process.

We finished the Jumping Frogs and he loved trying to launch them into the little ponds we had cut out.

The next project was a Rainstick.  With easy to use stickers and end caps, he almost completed it entirely on his own – which made him really proud!  Now, when I asked him to stand with his Rainstick for a picture he was a bit “uncooperative” but I knew other moms with 4 year olds would appreciate the expression on his face!

After we finished our crafts we had a fun time going through the “Explore – play and learn magazine for kids” that had a bonus project in it (a hanging snake, I mean what 4 year old would not love a hanging snake!??)  There were interesting facts to learn, activities, experiments and more ideas – and even a snack time idea.

How-Kiwi-Crate-Works

I plan to sign up and grab the boxes for the summer – make sure to sign up by June 16th to start your summer series, if you sign up after that date, you will begin in July, missing the Camping Trip box.

The boxes are a great rainy day stand-by activity or to take along when we go out of town.  I truly do love that everything is included.  If you have a child with a summer birthday, why not offer this up as a gift idea?  It would be a fun way to engage with your child and create some fun projects together.  Have more than one child, no worries – you can choose to ‘add on’ supplies to make double the fun, so no one is left out in the projects.

Stress Away Essential Oil

This blend smells like heaven, or at least what I hope heaven will smell like! Stress Away – it doesn’t get more explanatory than that! I am sure you can list about ten situations in the last week where this one would have come in handy.

Wonder how you can use Young Living Stress Away essential oil in your home? Let’s start a list:

#1: You can add 2-3 drops to your wrists for an exotic perfume.

#2: I put 5- 10 drops in Epsom salt and combine it with warm water in my bath. Simply the best!

#3: When things begin to get a bit crazy in our house, I open the lid and just smell it. The aroma is crazy good!

#4: It is a great one to put in your diffuser. I will drop a few drops into my diffuser, especially in the evening hours.

#5: I put a few drops on my wool dryer balls. I love to use dryer balls instead of toxic dryer sheets.

#6: It is perfect for occasional tension or anxiety. Either diffuse or inhale directly from the bottle or a diffuser necklace.

#7: I put it on a cotton ball and place it in my car to smell the aroma. Even when we are just doing normal errands around town. But it works even better for long car rides.

#8: This one is great to make a spray bottle mist. Just some water and some drops of oil in a glass bottle and spray as an air freshener or linen spray.

#9: You can easily massage into your feet before bed.

#10: This is my go-to gift for teachers and friends. I always have some in my stash.

Why I Love PanAway Essential Oil

Why I Love PanAway Essential Oil

The fact is this – my body is not that of a 20 year old!  I am coming up on 50 and I have loved being active most of my life, which results in some minor and occasional discomfort – and that’s where PanAway comes in to help this mama out!

What Is in PanAway Essential Oil?

There are four different essential oils in this fabulous blend:

  1. Wintergreen Essential Oil contains 85-99% of methyl salicylate – the same active ingredient as birch – and is beneficial in massage for soothing head tension and muscles after exercising.
  2. Helichrysum Essential Oil is known for its restorative properties and provides excellent support to the skin.  A great oil to diffuse when studying or doing homework, Helichrysum has a stimulating aroma that no home should be without.
  3. Clove Essential Oil is great for adding to a wellness routine. It’s also an important ingredient in Young Living’s Thieves blend. Its principal constituent is eugenol.
  4. Peppermint Essential Oil is one of the most highly regarded herbs for supporting normal digestion, including promoting healthy intestinal function and gastrointestinal system comforts.

How Do I Use PanAway Essential Oil?

  • I use it for minor muscle discomfort following exercise. I dilute one drop PanAway with 2 drops carrier oil (like grapeseed or coconut oil).
  • It is a wonderful addition to an Epsom salt bath, especially after a long day moving muscles that you may not have moved in a long time!
  • I put it topically on my forehead if I am finding some tension arising after an incredibly busy day. I dilute and rub away!
  • It is so soothing to the skin. Adding some to a palm full of coconut oil and rubbing it in feels so pleasant. The aroma is fresh and clean and the warmth on the skin is divine!
  • After a long day in heels or shoes that are not my normal Fit-Flops, rubbing some PanAway on my feet with a carrier oil is one way to relax those Big Dogs for the night.

10 Ways to Use Purification Essential Oil

Purification essential oil works just like it’s name. It is an awesome essential oil with a clean, crisp, and fresh scent.

It is an amazing blend of six essential oils: Citronella, Lemongrass, Rosemary, Tea Tree, Lavendin, and Myrtle. It includes the natural occurring compounds cineol, neral, and geranial (take a few minutes and look up those amazing constituents!).

10 Ways to Use Purification Essential Oil

  1. Diffuse it to freshen and eliminate odors.
  2. Add it to your current moisturizer to help moisturize and improve the appearance for healthy looking skin.
  3. Add a few drops to neutralize odors in a litter box.
  4. Make a simple pillow spray by adding a few drops to a spray bottle filled with water.
  5. Put a few drops on cotton balls and place on vents in your house, car, and closets.
  6. Purification is a great essential oil to use for enjoying the outdoors and camping annoyance free. Just apply topically or make a simple spray
  7. Add it to Young Living Bath & Shower Gel Base or add 4 drops to a cup of Epsom salt for a soothing foot soak.
  8. Many pet owners add a drop on their pet’s collar or add a couple drops to their pet’s shampoo.
  9. Add it to laundry detergent to give your laundry a little kick. Also, here’s a Laundry Rinse that you can use, but substitute Purification essential oil. I have done that several times, especially with my front loader and its odors.
  10. Add it to any all-natural cleaning recipe you may have.

6 Great Ways to Use Lemon Essential Oil

Let’s chat about Young Living’s Lemon Essential Oil. Its aroma will knock your socks off. You’ll be amazed at how fresh and clean it is!

There are so many great uses for Lemon essential oil. My favorite is drinking Lemon Vitality in my water. This is my favorite glass water bottle. It’s perfect for using citrus oils in your water. If you are looking for more energy, you gotta try it out!

How I Use Lemon And Lemon Vitality Essential Oil

1. I shared above that I do add it to my daily water intake. I love the refreshing taste and that it can give me a boost of energy.

2. The aroma uplifts my mind and my spirits, giving me a renewed attitude for the day. It is often one of the first ones I sniff while I am getting ready.

3. It is excellent to add to your evening wellness routine.

4. I love to add Lemon Vitality to recipes. Add a few drops of Lemon Vitality essential oil instead of lemon juice for extra kick!

5. I put a few drops on a cotton ball and place it in my car to help keep things fresh. It can get pretty nasty in there, if you know what I mean.

6. A few drops of Lemon Vitality in a mug of warm water is wonderful support for my immune system.
