9 Traits of a Life-Giving Mom – Week Three

Main-border-study

We begin week three of our journey reading Sue Detweiler’s book, 9 Traits of a Life Giving Mom: Replacing My Worst with God’s Best.

Sadness, depression, loneliness – all words that can easily describe us at different times.  I know for myself, depression and sadness is a struggle – I suffer from chronic depression, yet through God’s grace and His amazing medicine, I am currently able to prayerfully journey through it, even amidst the daily struggles I face.  This chapter was a really good reminder for me, that He is greater than it all.  When I focus on truth instead of what my mind likes to permeate me with, all things are better.

Week Three

Read  Chapter Three – Replacing My Sadness with God’s Joy

Trait 1:  Joy

I find myself needing more Joy, minute by minute.  I have trouble identifying with those who just exude Joy, this is not something that has supernaturally come to me, I will be focusing on this chapter and how I can allow it to permeate my daily walk.

You can also begin the questions in the Study Guide, which can be found in the back of your book, Lesson 3.  Have a journal you can write down your answers and reflections to the questions – be honest and spend some time here ladies.  The more you put into these answers the more progress you will have in this study.

I will be back tomorrow with a quick post on my thoughts about Chapter Three and will introduce some questions through out the week on the private Facebook page.

If you haven’t printed out the prayers that are covered in the chapters click HERE on Sue’s website.  Here is this week’s one for Joy – it’s a good one!
