Tackling this daily task in the Weekly Household Planner:
Sweep Front Porch
So this post is actually going to go a little farther than just sweeping the front porch! Hopefully it will also inspire you to put a few personal touches on your front entryway to welcome in Fall! I shared what I did a couple years ago and it certainly shouts – NO MARTHA STEWART lives here! So don’t feel bad if you aren’t creating a big masterpiece. It honestly is the thought that counts and even though my family may not mention it, I know they appreciate it. (I’ve overheard my kids’ friends say they wished their mom would decorate like ‘that’ – so it does matter!)
There are a ton of great DIY ideas for decorating – I love looking at all the ideas, but have to admit I am not very good at actually doing any of them! But perhaps this year will be different. I really need to dig into my creative side to bring out a little “UMPH” into my spirit. Maybe you feel the same way?
If you decide to decorate – great! In any event the first step will be cleaning up the porch so start here:
1. Clean/empty any planters from summer
2. Remove and clean/sweep door mat.
3. Sweep or even pressure wash your front porch and stairs.
4. Decide of what Fall decorations to put up.
5. Re-plant some fall flowers in those planters.
6. Enjoy the view – and your guests will too!
Here are a few places that shared some spectacular ideas, hop over and feast your eyes – you won’t be disappointed!
