Getting Out of the Holding Pattern

It is easy to get into a rhythm with our lives that becomes very familiar and typical – especially with a busy family circling around us and hardly enough time for us to snag a few minutes to catch our breath.

As I go through some personal transitions in my life I have begun to look at what I really want to focus on, what I feel is truly important and where I want to spend my energy, and I know I am not the only one who may be in this season.

It is easy to just keep doing what we’re doing – in fact that is the path of least resistance.  But it becomes a confining holding pattern that can easily lead to depression and feeling very unsatisfied.

As moms, we know we have a certain role to fill in our house, but we often forget that we are still someone who has dreams, desires and something special to share with others.

Is it time for you to dive into determining what those are?

With the start of a new school year I think it is the perfect time to work on ourselves.   I am included in that – so instead of me just being the coach or consultant – I am walking this road right along side you!  I am evaluating, searching, praying and beginning to work through different challenges to see what is in store for me.

It could not have been more perfect when Mandi, over at Life…Your Way started an online ebook club.  She chose to carry readers through her wonderfully REAL story of how she journeyed the road of motherhood and the different seasons she went through to get to where she is.

Her book, “Have Your Cake and Eat it, Too” is the book for September.

After seeing her post today for week one, I know I am in the right place to find a valuable resource to help guide me along in determining the right choices to get me out of MY holding pattern.  She offers some great questions for readers to ponder, for example “How can you use your current circumstances as stepping stones to the future?”

I love that!  So often we can view where we are right in this moment as the ‘forever’ – but it doesn’t have to be.

Are you ready to challenge yourself and get out of the holding pattern that you might have found a little too comfortable?  I invite you to join me in this adventure of discovering more.  Mandi has not only marked her ebook down to only $4.99 until the end of today, but has generously added printable discussion questions, a goal worksheet and inspirational quotes – and that is just for this week!

Won’t you join me?

It won’t monopolize your time and you might just discover something wonderful about yourself!
