It is that time of year when you are probably thinking about resolutions for 2011. I have been a little pre-occupied so today is really the first chance I have had to truly give consideration to what things I would like to change during the next year.
Do you ever find yourself being all excited about resolutions and fresh starts, but soon find that you have greater expectations of yourself than are realistic?
Do you get overwhelmed with new goals and are not sure where to start?
I ran across a group of ladies (Meghan Tucker {The Tuckers Take Tennessee} and Ashley Pichea {AP Freewriting}) who are anxious to help all of us attain our goals for 2011 and they have created 3 in 30 – reaching to attain our goals 3 at a time. Three in 30 days – sounds pretty realistic to me!
So if you have a big list of resolutions, break them down into bite size pieces and join us in the 3 in 30 challenge.
Ask yourself a few questions:
What are my goals for the year?
What are the goals I can focus on this month?
What are my action steps each week to reach those goals?
What will I do to celebrate when I reach these goals?

My January goals:
- Commit to getting up at 5:30 AM every morning to give some time to God.
I have signed up for the Bible in 90 Days Challenge so will certainly need to time to read, but I truly want to set myself up for success during the day and I know that if I can let the Holy Spirit fill me for the day, I will be a much better mother, wife and individual.
- Workout a minimum of 5 times per week
I have found a new workout that I am loving (Jillian Michaels Shred It with Weights) so I want to combine that with pilates (which I use to do) as well as hot yoga. I am an avid runner, but have fallen off any type of training schedule and need to pick a race to train for. In the meantime I need to keep my endurance up, so this should help!
- Spend one on one time with each family member each week – outside our house
With a hubby, and now four children in the house, this will be challenging, but I know it is a must. I have been spending one on one time with my teenage daughter for quite sometime, but have not made it a habit with my other children. I know that it helps them feel important and it helps me devote time just to them, rather than multi-tasking.
I will be posting about my progress with a few blog posts, but also giving updates in the Mom’s Discussion Forum too. Sing up for FREE if you are not already a member and join the conversation!
What are your goals for this next year? Feel like joining in on the 3 in 30 challenge and tackling them in bite-size pieces?
