Weekly Household Quick Tip

This week’s task in the Weekly Household Planner:

Rotate seasonal clothing/sell or donate

I actually began this task over the weekend since I had the “Spring Cleaning Bug”.  Now, here in Seattle we really can’t completely store away winter items, because often during summer we have some chilly, rainy days.  But I take this time to organize and rid my closet of clothing that is too small/big, not being worn or just needs to be updated.  But I can get out my shorts and sleeveless tops, which have typically been stored away for the winter.

I am also a big fan of selling some of my higher quality items on Ebay or Craigslist and using that money to purchase some new updated items.  If you have no idea how to start, this is a great post from Money Saving Mom which can answer some questions and get you started.  It is on selling kids clothing, but you can do the same with adult clothing.  At times, when I have larger lots or am not sure if something will sell, I will put it on Craigslist, since there is no fee to sell so all I am out if it doesn’t sell is my time.

I love the way my closet looks after I have purged a bit – there is certainly something to be said for only have those items in your closet that you wear on a regular basis!

Here is a great post with some more tips on changing clothes out for seasons from Organizing Junkie.

Have you sold clothing on Ebay or Craigslist before?
