This recipe has been a lifesaver on so many occasions—providing breakfast, brunch, lunch, or dinner. It is perfect for a potluck or to whip up last minute.
My basic recipe is just that—the base. You can add most anything to it and make it uniquely yours.
Here’s the base:
- 10 eggs
- 2 cloves garlic, minced or grated
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
Then feel free to add any combination of the following:
- 8 slices of bacon, cooked and chopped
- 3/4 cup chopped ham
- 1/4 cup chopped basil
- 12 cherry tomatoes, halved
- 2 cups organic spinach or kale
- 3/4 cup grated cheese, cheddar or mozzarella
- 1/2 cup grated zucchini
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a large mixing bowl, whisk eggs, garlic, salt, and pepper. Stir in the other ingredients (spinach, bacon, etc). Pour into a greased 8 x 8 inch baking dish and top with tomato halves and any cheese.
Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the quiche is set.
I really love this recipe because I can be creative and use little bits of ingredients I can find in my fridge! If I am out of fresh basil, I will use a drop of Basil Vitality Essential Oil, which will really bring some fabulous flavor too. You can easily make it Paleo, 21 Day Sugar Detox compatible, and it is gluten free too.
