9 Traits of a Life-Giving Mom – Week One

Here we are ladies, the beginning of our journey into Sue Detweiler’s book, 9 Traits of a Life Giving Mom: Replacing My Worst with God’s Best.  We cover the material in this book over the next 11 weeks – I shared the outline in a previous blog post, but will include it at the end of this post as well.

To clarify, since there has been a bit of confusion, this book is only available as a kindle download.  You can find it for sale on amazon, but it is expected to ship too late for of our study.

But no fear – you can download the free kindle APP to any phone, pad or computer.  Please do not miss out on doing this study if you are new to reading on kindle.  I would hate to not have you participate.   And, if you are just finding out about the study today, you can grab the kindle book and get it instantly and join us!  Isn’t the magic of technology fabulous?

Now that we’ve taken care of business, let’s share what we will cover this week for the study.

Welcome to a life-giving journey where it is safe for you to be honest, transparent, and real about the areas of your life that are holding you back.  Let’s travel together with the expectancy that God still works in the imperfect details of our lives.  Let Him touch the hidden places of your heart and help you discover the joy of walking with Him.  Go ahead and believe that He can take your worst and replace it with His best.”  – Sue Detweiler

Doesn’t that just want to make you dig in right now?  I am so encouraged and excited to find out what is in store for each and every one of us!

Week One

Read the Introduction and Chapter One

In addition, you will want to begin to go through the questions in the study Guide, which can be found in the back of your book, Lesson 1 –

I will be back tomorrow with a quick post on my thoughts about Chapter One and will introduce some questions through out the week on the private Facebook page.  For those who have ben through previous online studies here at The Confident Mom, I tend to share my good, bad and ugly – so be prepared for me to be vulnerable and be real with you as I encounter what God has in store for me during this study too.  Yes, I am a leader here, but also a learner too.  I desire to change in the same ways you desire to have God replace your worst too.

You can grab printable copies of all the Prayers that are covered in the chapters HERE on Sue’s website.  I have printed them all out and have them tucked into my notebook to pray each coordinating pray for the current week we are studying.  I think they will be a huge blessing to the study!

I love this week’s prayer!
