I Am Enough

I Am Enough - Scripture to Help Moms Be Good Enough

I recently shared with you all about my walk through dealing with my perfectionism. I am in for the long haul to focus, be intentional, and defeat this stronghold. Over the past few weeks, I have been looking for ways to speak TRUTH into my life.

So much of what stems and feeds my perfectionism is words that I speak to myself – that ugly self-talk. I am sure you know exactly what I am talking about – “I can’t do that,”  “How on earth could I allow that to happen, I am so stupid,” or “Everyone will see now how incapable I am.”

I read a devotion the other day written by Rick Warren on the YouVerison app and I wrote down the words that he spoke – that is how God sees me. I have them written on a note card and speak them to myself each morning.

I am acceptable.

I am lovable.

I am valuable.

I am forgivable.

I am capable.

This is how God sees me and how I need to begin to view myself; giving myself the incredible gift of grace that God does. These words are powerful truths. I am enough.

Maybe you need to hear them daily as well – go ahead, grab a note card and write them down. Tuck them into a journal or post them on your bathroom mirror. They are meant to be shared. God thinks you are amazing too!

I also grabbed this fabulous scripture coloring bookLive Loved: An Adult Coloring BookLive Loved: An Adult Coloring Book by Margaret Feinberg. (I also considered this coloring book on amazon)  This is just for me. To spend some time settling my heart on occasion. I tend to run at full speed and when it comes to scripture memorization I am not gifted in that area – but I can be more intentional about getting scripture embedded in my heart, so in comes the coloring book. (And some fabulously new colored pencils all sharpened!)

I also hold onto this verse, repeating it daily as I work through the areas I am currently focusing on: I can do all this through Him who gives me strength. – Phil 4:13 NIV

I also listen to this song on repeat sometimes. It is one of my favorites!
