30 Day Giving Challenge

Do you have a heart for giving?

Do you want your giving to make a bigger impact this holiday season?

Would you like to set an example for your children that is more than your words?

Would you like to be part of a larger giving effort to make a BIG difference?

I am excited to share with you all the I am participating in The 30 Day Giving Challenge for 2010. What is The 30 Day Giving Challenge you ask?

The 30 Day Giving Challenge started in 2009 with participants being encouraged to spend 30 days giving. This was no ordinary giving. Participants were asked to document their giving in a journal for 30 days. The giving could be big or small, time or money, whatever God prompted each one to do each day.

I did not participate last year, but can see the benefit to myself, my family and to others when I do give, so why not make it an intentional effort for the 30 days AND keep track of it?

30-Day Giving Challenge

So I challenge you – come join me! The challenge is for the month of November and you can be as simple or elaborate as you wish.  They have a wonderful printable calendar that you can jot down your ideas on in order to keep track (click here)  and a great list of charities, other bloggers who will be writing about their journey AND prizes!  Yes, Prizes!

November if National Adoption Month, so I will be focusing on my personal charity of choice Olive Crest. Since 1973, Olive Crest has transformed the lives of over 50,000 abused, neglected, and at-risk children and their families. We work tirelessly to meet the individual needs of kids in crisis by providing safe homes, counseling, and education for both youth and parents.  This is the organization we are working through to Foster/Adopt and I know personally how my donations will be used.

Do not get frustrated though, even if you feel you cannot give financially – you can volunteer your time to your own favorite organization, or bless a friend or neighbor. Use your imagination, involve your kids and come up with some unique ways to share yourself with others.

Will you join me as I take on the 30 Day Giving Challenge in November of 2010?
